Educating a child is one thing but educating a hungry child is another. At little rock we run a feeding program that provides children with one meal a day. Mid morning snack porridge and a balanced lunch. This program has enabled the children to concentrate in class and their overall academic performance. This is the same to the children who have transitioned to primary school who come to the center from 5-6pm for free reading in the library and do their homework with the available course books in the library(Jacobs Well). These children eat from our soup kitchen that provides the only meal for many of them. This guarantees them at least one balanced meal a day which has prevented truancy and looking for food in the streets.
